Chat services

Chat services are software solutions that provide live chat, messaging, and customer service features for your online store. These services allow businesses to connect with their website visitors and customers in real time, providing a direct and convenient communication channel.

Sellvio offers support for two of the most commonly used chat services: LiveChat and Tawk.to.

Each chat service has a number of supported languages, which can be found at the top of the service's settings panel. To use a chat service in your store, you must enable one of the supported languages.

IMPORTANT: Sellvio allows only one chat service to be active at a time. When you activate a new chat service, the previous one is automatically deactivated.


LiveChat

To activate LiveChat in the web store, the store owner must have a LiveChat account.

After creating an account, store owners can freely customize the appearance of the chat widget under their LiveChat account by going to the "Settings" page.

LiveChat is a service that uses an embed code to display the chat widget in the webshop.

The necessary embed code can be found under the LiveChat account by going to the "Settings > Channels > Website" page.

To integrate the chat widget into the webshop, store administrators need to copy the embed code from their LiveChat account and paste it into the "Embed code" field under the Sellvio LiveChat settings, then click the Submit button.

IMPORTANT: The embed code is not stored by Sellvio's system! After pasting the embed code, the system processes it. If the value appears in the "License ID" field in the Sellvio LiveChat settings, the LiveChat application has been recognized and does not need to be added anymore.

LiveChat settings are available in the administration sidebar under External services → Chat Services.

  1. The language tabs provide access to language-specific settings for all currently active languages ​​in the webshop.
  2. Name - this field allows administrators to assign a name to the service in the language selected in the language at the top of the service settings panel. This name is only used within the administration interface.
  3. Description - this field allows administrators to provide a short description of the service in the language selected in the language at the top of the service settings panel. This description is only used within the administration interface.
  4. Mode - this setting allows administrators to switch between Sandbox (test) and Live (production) modes. The Sandbox setting is primarily for testing purposes. Administrators can insert separate embed codes for sandbox and production modes.
  5. Active - determines whether the service is active or not. If deactivated, the chat widget will not be visible to customers or administrators, regardless of whether the service is in sandbox or live mode.
  6. Embed Code - Administrators will need to paste the embed code copied from their LiveChat account into this field before clicking the "Save" button to complete the service setup.
  7. License ID - As mentioned earlier, after the pasted embed code is successfully processed, the recognized license ID will be displayed in this field. If a value is displayed in the 'License ID' field under Sellvio LiveChat settings, then the system has successfully identified the LiveChat application and the setup process has been completed successfully.

Tawk.to

To activate Tawk.to in the webshop, store owners must have an account with Tawk.to.

A new Tawk.to account can be created at:

After creating an account, store owners are free to customize the appearance of the chat widget under their Tawk.to account by going to the "Administration > Chat Widget" page.

Tawk.to is a service that uses an embed code to display the chat widget on the web store.

The Sellvio Tawk.to plugin already contains the necessary embed code, so administrators only need to copy the Property ID and Widget ID from their Tawk.to account:
