SEO Settings
Sellvio provides settings for in-depth SEO optimization of individual content types, such as articles, pages, galleries, and products.
This chapter will delve into the details of the various SEO settings offered by Sellvio and their significance, so that store owners can optimize their SEO down to the smallest detail.
There are separate configuration options for each language used by the online store.
- Meta title - a short, descriptive title that appears on search engine results pages and serves as a concise summary of the website's content.
- Meta description - a short piece of text that appears below the meta title in search engine results and provides a brief summary of the website's content. It helps users determine the relevance of the page to their search.
- Meta keywords - a set of words or phrases that Sellvio automatically places in the HTML code of the page, describing the content of the page.
- Include in sitemap - this option determines whether the given content is included in the sitemap of the online store. Including a page or a specific entry in a sitemap is important because it helps search engines discover and index the page, increasing its visibility in search results.
- Page Priority (Sitemap) - This setting allows administrators to prioritize content in the sitemap. The priority within the sitemap indicates the relative importance of pages to search engines, helping them make crawling and indexing decisions. Help in the blue sidebar provides administrators with guidance on assigning priorities to specific content types.
- Page content update frequency (Sitemap) - An indication of how often a web page's content is likely to change. This setting helps search engines understand when to revisit the page for updates.
Custom URL
Custom URLs, also known as custom URLs or custom links, are user-defined web page addresses that are tailored to specific content or purposes. They allow you to create easily recognizable and memorable links for sharing and navigation.
This section can also be used to manage 301 redirects, which are permanent redirects of a web page or URL to another location. It informs search engines and web browsers that the requested URL has permanently moved to a new location.
A 301 redirect is valuable when migrating existing online stores to Sellvio, as it notifies search engines that the content from the old online store is now in the new location. This ensures a smooth transition and helps maintain search engine rankings and user experience during the migration process.
NOTE: Multiple custom URLs can be assigned to a single post.
