Árukereső Registration and Product Upload for Webshops – What Do You Need to Know?

Updated: 2026 · 13 min read

Before buying, many people browse the offerings of several webshops. They don't necessarily order the first suitable product — they'd rather compare prices, check shipping costs and, when they can, look up the opinions of previous buyers. Árukereső, Hungary's popular price comparison site, makes exactly this comparison easier. And for merchants it can be especially useful because it reaches shoppers who already know what they want to buy and are looking for just the right offer.

For a webshop, Árukereső can bring serious traffic and new customers, especially if it sells easily comparable products from well-known brands. Registration, however, is only the first step. It's at least as important that your product data is accurate, that prices and stock information are updated regularly, and that the money spent on advertising pays off. If you don't watch these, your presence can easily end up costing more than the profit it brings.

We'll look at how a webshop can join Árukereső, what to pay attention to when uploading products, and which mistakes are worth avoiding right from the start. We'll also cover how the built-in Árukereső integration of the Sellvio webshop platform can simplify data upload and keeping your product range up to date.

Why is it worth appearing on Árukereső?

On Árukereső you typically reach shoppers who already know exactly what they're looking for. Someone comparing the price of a specific washing machine or power tool is usually past the initial research phase and wants to find the best offer before buying. For a webshop this can be an especially valuable audience, since you don't have to spark their interest from scratch. This is what sets Árukereső apart from, say, social media advertising. While on Facebook or Instagram you're often trying to reach people who never planned to buy anything in the first place, on price comparison sites you can build on existing demand. If your webshop shows up with the right offer, it stands a good chance of winning visitors who genuinely want to order.

For that, you don't necessarily have to undercut every competitor. Some customers will happily pay a bit more if, in exchange, they receive the product sooner, the shipping conditions are better, or they consider the merchant more trustworthy. Good customer ratings can also weigh heavily in the decision. A smaller webshop can therefore perform well on Árukereső even without having the lowest price on every product.

One thing to keep in mind, though: Árukereső doesn't replace search engine optimisation or your other marketing activities. Treat it primarily as a paid traffic acquisition channel, where traffic by itself doesn't equal success. You also need to examine what it costs to acquire a prospect, how many visitors become actual buyers, and how much profit is ultimately left on the orders.

Árukereső registration — how do you join?

You can join Árukereső through its Partner Portal. Registration happens here, and later the same interface is where you manage your webshop's details, your product lists, your display settings and the financial statements too. Joining requires a working webshop and a business capable of issuing invoices, plus meeting a few basic conditions. To appear on the Hungarian market, for example, you have to operate a Hungarian-language webshop, display prices in forints, and make the relevant company information and purchase terms accessible. On top of that, Árukereső requires email and phone contact options, delivery within Hungary, and either an in-person pickup option or cash-on-delivery payment.

During registration you'll need to provide your business's official details and the information required for contact. Choose the email address carefully, because this is where notifications about product list processing, any errors and account-related tasks will arrive. Use an address that is genuinely checked on a regular basis.

Once the account is created, you can move on to configuring the webshop's public details, the pickup points and the source of the product list. For paid appearances you'll also need a PPC balance, which, according to Árukereső's guide, requires an initial top-up of at least HUF 20,000.

Importantly, though, a successful registration alone doesn't mean your products will appear on Árukereső. For that, your webshop's range has to be handed over via a correctly formatted product list, and you also have to take care of regularly refreshing the data. Sellvio's built-in integration can help here, so transferring the product data and keeping it current can take considerably less manual work.

How does product upload to Árukereső work?

The data of a few dozen products is still fairly manageable by hand, but with hundreds or thousands of items this would mean an enormous amount of work. On top of that, uploading your products to Árukereső once isn't enough. Prices can change, products can sell out, new ones can join the range, and occasionally the shipping terms change too. These changes have to be reflected on the price comparison site as well. This is what the so-called product feed is for — the channel through which Árukereső takes over your webshop's range. Essentially, it's a data file with a defined structure containing the products' most important details. Based on these, the system can process the offers and assign them to the right products and categories.

Árukereső accepts product lists in both XML and CSV format. The most convenient solution is usually for the webshop engine to generate the required file automatically and make it available at a fixed web address. That way you don't have to compile and upload a new file every time something changes in your range. The refresh can then happen on the webshop's side without any separate manual intervention.

If a product's price changes, for example, or it runs out of stock, the new data can go into the next product feed. Árukereső will process it on its next scheduled data fetch. You should expect, however, that there's no continuous, real-time synchronisation between the two systems. It can therefore happen that your webshop already shows the new price while Árukereső briefly still displays the previous amount.

What data does the product feed need to contain?

Árukereső prescribes several mandatory data fields. These include the unique product identifier (Identifier), the manufacturer's name (Manufacturer), the product's name (Name), the category (Category), the product page's web address (ProductUrl), and the gross and net price (Price and NetPrice). If the product has a manufacturer's product code (ProductNumber), that must be included too. It's especially important that the unique product identifiers never change in later updates. With product names, avoid overly generic or ad-like phrasing. A name like “Premium LED television” says very little about the device. It's far more useful if it contains the manufacturer, the exact model number and a few essential attributes. The same goes for categories: “Electronics > Televisions > OLED televisions” is far clearer than, say, “Our best deals”.

Beyond the mandatory data, it's also advisable to include product images, the EAN code and shipping-related information. For certain services, stating the shipping cost (DeliveryCost) and the expected delivery time (DeliveryTime) is a requirement as well. With these, you have to mind not only the correct data but also the prescribed format.

The DeliveryTime field is a good example: Árukereső accepts the value “3” or “3 business days”, but entering “3–5 days” can already cause a problem. When building the product feed, then, the small technical details matter too. However accurate your information is, if it doesn't enter the file in the right form, errors can occur during processing and some offers may even be left out of the display.

Árukereső integration in a Sellvio webshop

It's worth knowing that with Sellvio, generating the product feeds required for price comparison sites can be done without any custom development. The built-in Árukereső integration has been available in the system since November 2024, letting you automate the transfer and updating of product data. This can be a serious relief, mainly for webshops with a larger range. The configuration is available in Sellvio's admin interface, under the External services → Catalogues menu. After selecting Árukereső.hu, you can specify which product categories and manufacturers should be included in the exported range. This is useful because it's not necessarily worth advertising every product — especially those sold on a thin margin or with high shipping costs.

In the catalogue manager you can select the export format, and the product list's web address is available there too. Árukereső accepts XML and CSV formats, and the link generated by Sellvio has to be entered in the Partner Portal under Display settings → Product list source. After that, Árukereső can automatically fetch the updated data.

Alongside product categories, manufacturers and prices, Sellvio also supports managing stock information, which can be a particular advantage with multiple warehouses. Even with automatic data transfer, though, it's still worth checking the product feed, since incomplete or faulty data can keep some offers from being displayed correctly.

How long until the uploaded products appear?

After submitting your first product list, don't expect your full range to be visible on Árukereső within a few hours. The system first has to download and process the data, and then assign the products to the right categories and offers. According to Árukereső's documentation, the product feed is downloaded daily, while the initial processing and categorisation takes 5–8 business days on average.

In the meantime, log in to the Partner Portal regularly, where you can check how many products have been processed and whether any errors have appeared. It's also worth reviewing your more important, higher-traffic products individually. It matters, after all, whether an offer is really linked to the right product and appears in the category where customers will be looking for it.

If one of your products is missing from the results, that doesn't necessarily mean the whole product feed is broken. A missing identifier, an imprecise product name or a wrongly specified category can be enough for the processing of that particular offer to run into trouble.

How much does using Árukereső cost?

Árukereső's traditional price comparison service is click-based — it works on a so-called PPC (Pay Per Click) model. The merchant pays when someone clicks through from Árukereső to their webshop. The fee can depend on the product category, the price and the display settings, among other things, and the exact amounts can be checked in the Partner Portal.

But what does acquiring a customer cost this way? Suppose you pay an average of HUF 80 per click, and 2 percent of visitors buy. That means one order per 50 clicks on average — an advertising cost of HUF 4,000 per purchase. These are purely illustrative numbers, of course, not Árukereső's actual fees.

To judge the return, you also need to know your margin. If, after deducting procurement and fulfilment costs, only HUF 3,000 remains on an order, then in the example above the sale is loss-making. With a higher cart value or a better margin, however, the same click fee can pay off handsomely. So the decisive factor isn't what a visitor costs — it's how much profit the orders arriving from Árukereső bring.

Sellvio's order data and analytics integrations can help you calculate this. With a properly configured Google Analytics 4 you can track the traffic arriving from Árukereső and the revenue it generates. If you then set this data against your products' margins and other costs, it becomes much easier to decide which products are worth advertising.

The Trusted Shop programme: why is it worth joining?

On Árukereső, many shoppers don't just compare prices — they also check what experiences others have had with the given webshop. This can matter most for lesser-known merchants, since many people order more cautiously from an unfamiliar webshop. If, however, they can read the opinions of dozens of satisfied customers, that alone can go a long way towards building trust.

This is what Árukereső's Trusted Shop (Megbízható Bolt) programme builds on: after ordering, customers can rate the webshop, the delivery and their overall purchase experience. Earning the badge requires a defined number of positive reviews. The green-bordered badge requires at least 10 ratings within 90 days, with a minimum average of 4.2. The higher level, the green-background badge, requires 60 ratings and an average of at least 4.6 over the same period.

What should you pay special attention to with Árukereső?

On Árukereső it's especially important that prices and stock information are always up to date. If a customer encounters a higher price in your webshop than on the price comparison site, that can quickly erode trust. And inaccurate stock data can mean paying click fees on products that can no longer be ordered. So keep a close eye on refreshing the product feed, particularly during promotions and periods of frequent price changes.

The accuracy of product names, manufacturer part numbers and categories isn't incidental either. A phone variant with different storage, for example, is not the same product, so the identifiers and the product page URLs have to be specified correctly too. Don't forget about shipping costs either, since customers generally look at the total amount payable. It's worth checking your offers through a customer's eyes from time to time — that way you spot the errors sooner, before they cause unnecessary spending or lost orders.

Is it worth uploading your entire product range?

For a webshop selling several thousand products, handing over the full range to Árukereső poses no particular technical difficulty. Whether it's worth advertising every product in paid form is another question entirely. There can be major differences between individual products in margin, price and expected demand, so displaying the maximum number of offers won't necessarily bring the best result.

Take, for example, a HUF 2,000 accessory that earns only a few hundred forints of profit. Here, even a few paid clicks can easily eat up the entire margin — especially if most visitors end up not ordering. With an HUF 80,000 technical product there may be more room to manoeuvre, but of course the selling price isn't the only thing that counts there either. The actual profit, the competitors' offers, the average cart value and the share of returning customers can all influence how worthwhile advertising a given product is. That's exactly why it often makes sense to start with only part of your range. After a few weeks or months, once the click and sales data is available, it's easier to decide for which product groups to increase your presence — and where to rein in the spending.

Sellvio's category- and manufacturer-based catalogue filtering can help here too. The merchant can choose which categories' or brands' products go into the range handed over to Árukereső, so there's no need to advertise everything automatically. When assembling the product feed, in other words, it's worth factoring in the business considerations from the start.

Árukereső and Marketplace: one platform, two services

It's important to distinguish between Árukereső's traditional price comparison service and the Marketplace, because the two don't work the same way. On the price comparison site, the customer reviews the offers of the various merchants, then clicks through to the chosen webshop to place the order. With the Marketplace, however, certain products can be purchased directly on Árukereső's own interface, without ever entering the merchant's webshop.

For the Marketplace, a standard Árukereső registration and a configured product feed aren't enough. Joining requires meeting further conditions, which may include the Trusted Shop badge, providing suitable payment and shipping options, and handing over certain additional product data. In other words, just because a webshop's products appear among the price comparison results, they don't automatically become purchasable on the Marketplace.

It's worth thinking through in advance which solution fits your webshop's operation better. Not only can the joining conditions and the costs differ, but so can the handling of orders and the tasks that fall to the merchant. Before a webshop enters the Marketplace, these should be examined thoroughly — and you need to calculate how profitable the new sales channel is actually likely to be.

Uploading your products is only the first step

Joining Árukereső isn't particularly complicated, especially if your webshop platform can generate the required product list automatically. But the work is far from over with registration and the product feed setup. Just because your products appear on the price comparison site, there's no guarantee that the visitors you gain will turn into profitable orders.

Check regularly which products bring the most customers and what selling them costs. It can easily turn out, for example, that a popular product gets plenty of clicks while the margin on its orders barely covers the advertising costs. For other products, even fewer visitors may be enough to make the presence genuinely worthwhile. That's why it pays to keep a continuous eye on prices, shipping terms and how competitors' offers evolve.

Sellvio's built-in Árukereső integration primarily takes the technical burden off merchants' shoulders. Exporting and updating the product data can be automated, so you don't have to touch the product list by hand at every price change or stock adjustment. The time saved can go into the decisions that actually influence sales.

Árukereső delivers truly good results when you don't just upload your products and then leave them to their fate. By regularly analysing costs and orders, over time you can discover which offers deserve heavier promotion, where prices need adjusting, and for which products the paid presence simply isn't economical. Manage your Árukereső appearances with proper care, and the platform becomes not merely another source of visitors, but one of the effective pillars of your webshop's profitable operation.
