Field for uploading multiple documents (also known as Documents field)

Store owners can add accompanying documents to certain content types, such as Articles, Pages, Events, Galleries, and Products, under the Files tab.

In this chapter, we will take a closer look at how to add documents to the aforementioned content types and what purpose they serve.

The multi-document upload field can handle the following file types: pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, odt, ods, rtf, and txt.

Administrators can add documents to the field by dragging them to the field's "drop area" or by clicking on the field and manually selecting them from the operating system's file browser.

Once the files are uploaded, the green progress bar below the field will display Done, and the following features and controls will become available:

  1. Progress bar - The progress bar shows the progress of the image upload process. Once all images have been uploaded, it will turn green and the status number will change to "Done".
  2. Reorder documents - Administrators can manually reorder documents by clicking and dragging the "arrows" icon.
  3. Download - Images in the multi-image upload field can be downloaded individually by clicking the download icon below each image.
  4. Delete - Images that are no longer needed can be deleted from the multi-image upload field by clicking the "trash can" icon.
  5. Delete all documents - All documents can be removed by clicking the "X" icon in the upper right corner.
  6. Details preview - Clicking the magnifying glass icon below the document will open a new window where administrators can enter additional details about the document.

Detailed Preview and Captions

The detailed preview window offers the same controls and features as the multi-image upload field.

NOTE: The only difference is that if you add a caption to your documents, the caption will be used in the webshop instead of the original filename of the file.
